The Big Blind is the most complex position in GGPoker All-In or Fold — not because it opens, but because it faces seven completely different scenarios depending on who pushed and from where. Getting BB defense right is one of the highest-value skills in AoF. Getting it wrong is one of the most expensive leaks.
In every other position, you are making a simple binary decision: push or fold your hand. In the BB, you are making a call decision against a known range — but that range changes dramatically based on who pushed and how many players are all-in.
A CO push is tight. A SB push is wide. CO + BTN together is even tighter than CO alone. Each scenario requires a completely different calling range, and confusing them costs money on every hand.
This is the tightest call scenario. CO pushes approximately 35-40% of hands — a strong, condensed range. Against this range, the BB should call with only the top 25-28% of hands. Calling wider against CO is a significant leak that many players have.
BTN pushes wider than CO — approximately 50-55% of hands. Against this wider range, the BB can profitably call with approximately 30-35% of hands. The calling range expands meaningfully compared to vs CO.
This is the widest single-opponent call scenario. The SB pushes approximately 65-70% of hands — a very wide range that includes many weak holdings. Against this range, the BB can call profitably with approximately 40-45% of hands.
Common mistake: Players use the same BB calling range for all single-opponent scenarios. Calling SB-wide against a CO push is expensive. Calling CO-tight against a SB push is also expensive — you are folding profitable calls.
When both CO and BTN push, the BB faces two condensed ranges simultaneously. This dramatically tightens the profitable calling range — only the top 15-18% of hands are profitable calls in this multi-way scenario.
CO and SB pushing together creates a mixed range — CO tight, SB wide. The combined calling range sits at approximately 18-22% of hands. Tighter than vs SB alone, wider than vs CO + BTN.
BTN and SB are both relatively wide pushers. Combined, they still create a condensed enough range that BB calling range tightens to approximately 20-25% of hands.
This is the tightest call scenario of all seven. All three players have pushed, covering a wide combined range — but the BB needs to beat all three simultaneously. Calling range tightens to the top 10-13% of hands: premium pairs and top aces only.
BB defense mistakes compound across sessions. AoF tables run fast — hundreds of hands per hour. Every incorrect BB decision happens multiple times per session. Over a week of regular play, a player who uses a single BB calling range instead of the correct scenario-specific range loses a measurable amount in big blinds per hand.
This is one of the highest-ROI areas to fix in your AoF game — and the reason PushFoldPro separates all 7 BB scenarios with individual ranges for each.
PushFoldPro shows the exact calling range for every BB scenario — from single opponent to all three pushers. Stop guessing. Start calling correctly.
